Donald R. Blackmore

Mechanic by trade, storyteller by accident.

Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Donald R. Blackmore is the author of dark, apocalyptic urban fantasy. A lifelong New Englander, he has always been fascinated by the region’s rich history, folklore, and haunted past. From the Salem witch trials to the Bridgewater Triangle, that fascination has become the foundation of his writing.

Donald writes stories where angels aren’t always righteous, monsters aren’t always evil, and humanity often finds itself somewhere in between. His novels challenge readers to wrestle with difficult questions about morality, faith, free will, and the nature of truth. Rather than offering simple answers, he prefers to leave it up to the readers to wonder where they themselves would stand when faced with impossible choices.

His debut novel, Undone: Lament of the Exalted – Pestilence, is the first installment in an apocalyptic fantasy series that blends biblical mythology, urban fantasy, horror, and New England history into a world where ancient powers walk among us and the fate of humanity hangs in the balance.

When he’s not planning the end of the world, Donald works as an automotive technician, a career he has enjoyed for more than three decades. At home, he enjoys cooking, playing poker, spending time with his family, and running around like a madman with his grandsons. He currently lives in New Hampshire, where he’s hard at work on the next book in the Undone series and is almost certainly asking himself, “How can I make life even worse for my characters?”

Undone: Lament of the Exalted

Book One of the Undone Series – Pestilence

Aiden Blackwell was born in Salem in 1684.

For more than three centuries, he has hunted the monsters that hide behind religion, myth, and fear—mages drunk on power, demons wearing human skin, and the celestial beings who call themselves angels.

He is known by only one title.

Battlemage.

And now, he has discovered how to end them permanently.

When a mysterious plague begins tearing through Boston, killing indiscriminately and spreading faster than science can explain, Aiden recognizes it as something far worse than a disease run rampant.

Something ancient.

Something biblical.

As entire cities begin to collapse, Heaven moves in the shadows, demons make their own bargains, and God Himself begins setting the stage for a new kind of domination.

When Aiden is hired to find a missing boy whose disappearance may be tied to the outbreak, the investigation pulls Dr. Evangeline Tucci into a world she was never meant to see.

A skeptical CDC virologist, her existence should be impossible—a woman untouched by magic in a world unknowingly bound by its rules.

With the help of Rafael, a centuries-old inquisitor who once spent his life hunting men like him, and Ash, a foul-mouthed fallen angel, Aiden must uncover the truth before the boy—and the world—run out of time.
