Linda Shenton Matchett

Linda Shenton Matchett writes happily-ever-after historical Christian fiction about second chances and women who overcome life’s challenges to be better versions of themselves. Her stories are inspired by real people who did extraordinary things in days gone by. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, she was born a stone’s throw from Fort McHenry (of Star-Spangled Banner fame) and has lived in historical places all her life. Thanks to a dad who worked for IBM (which in her mind means I’ve been moved, not International Business Machines), she attended more schools that she can count, including three high schools – one of the reasons she dove into the imaginary world of stories. Most of her career was spent in human resources primarily in the high-tech industry with short stints in local and state government, manufacturing, and academia. After escaping the Washington, DC rat race, she and her husband operated a bed and breakfast for twelve years. Happily retired, she is a volunteer docent and archivist at the Wright Museum of WWII, explores the history of the great state of New Hampshire, immerses herself in the imaginary worlds created by other authors, and drinks copious amounts of tea.
