If you live in New Hampshire and you’ve written a book, or if you love discovering local authors, there’s a brand-new corner of the internet we hope you will discover.
Launched in March 2026, NH Authors is a free online directory dedicated entirely to authors who currently call the Granite State home. Whether you’re traditionally published or self-published, fiction or nonfiction, debut or seasoned, if you write and you live in New Hampshire, there’s a place for you here.
What Is It, Exactly?
NH Authors is exactly what it sounds like: a searchable, browsable directory of New Hampshire-based writers, organized by author and genre. Each listing gets its own dedicated author page, giving writers a bit of extra visibility and a place to point readers, event organizers, people looking for speakers and book clubs their way.
The site also includes a resources section covering local bookstores, New Hampshire writer’s groups, helpful writer’s newsletters and other resources with much more being added, making it a one-stop hub for anyone engaged with the NH literary scene.
Who’s Behind It?
The directory was built as a personal project by an author who understands that marketing books is very different than marketing a business. The mission is to support fellow authors, friends, clients, and the broader literary world in New Hampshire. The site founder, who self describes as neuro spicy, has a commitment to inclusion that is incorporated into the site’s DNA.
Why It Matters
Local author communities can be surprisingly hard to discover. There’s no single place where readers can explore who’s writing in their own backyard, and emerging authors often struggle to gain visibility beyond their immediate circles. NH Authors goal is to fill that gap.
The price for authors? Free. Completely free to list for as long as the directory exists. Donations are welcome to help cover hosting and maintenance, but they’re entirely optional.
Get Listed or Start Exploring
If you’re a New Hampshire author, getting listed is straightforward, just fill out the submission form on the Get Listed page, and your profile should be live within a couple of business days.
If you’re a reader, a librarian, a bookseller, or just someone who loves supporting local writers, please check the site out and start exploring. The directory is just getting started, and the best time to bookmark it is now.
New Hampshire has always had a rich storytelling tradition. One of NH Authors goals is making sure those stories, and the people who write them, are a little easier to find.
